Retinoids used in Verso are a unique Vitamin A complex, NEAR 1 and Retinol 8. They are formulated in customized concentrations and have been proven to deliver optimal results. What makes NEAR 1 and Retinol 8 special is their ability to be effective at lower concentrations, helping minimize the risk of unwanted reactions. Each Verso product also contains a selection of functional ingredients that support and enhance the results of Verso’s Vitamin A complex.

RETINOL 8
(Retinyl Retionate)

A retinoid precursor created by combining retinoic acid and retinol, where retinol helps stabilize retinoic acid. When applied to the skin, it breaks down into retinoic acid and retinol. This allows it to act immediately through retinoic acid, and continue working over time as retinol is converted in the skin.

Studies indicate that retinyl retinoate can support collagen synthesis up to eight times more than traditional retinol. It is also more effective in addressing wrinkles and can help treat mild to moderate acne by combating bacteria and reducing sebum production. Retinol 8 is better tolerated and causes up to 50 percent less irritation than retinol.

Retinol 8 is an ester derivative of retinoic acid that can interact directly with retinoid receptors without requiring additional conversion steps, as it breaks down into active retinoic acid while also releasing retinol. Retinol is then further converted into retinal and ultimately into retinoic acid. Retinol 8 may be more effective than retinol in reducing the appearance of wrinkles, and it can also help improve acne concerns by reducing bacteria and sebum production. It is designed to be gentle and is generally associated with minimal irritation.

RETINOL 8
(aka Retinyl Retionate)

NEAR 1

(Niacinamidoethyl Retinoate)

A completely new and unique molecule that has been registered and patented. NEAR 1 is created through a chemical reaction that combines retinoic acid and niacinamide. In this complex, niacinamide helps stabilize the molecule and supports the conversion of retinoid into its active form, while also creating a synergistic effect that enhances the performance of Vitamin A on the skin.

Research also suggests that NEAR 1 can inhibit melanin production in a similar way to retinoic acid. This makes it particularly effective for concerns related to hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. NEAR 1 is a retinoic acid ester derivative that can bind directly to retinoid receptors without requiring conversion steps. It may be more effective than retinol for addressing discoloration while showing fewer irritation related side effects
